History
The Manufacture des Papiers Peints Zuber & Cie was founded in the 18th century in Alsace. Following the annexation of Alsace by Germany, in 1881 the company decided to establish a site producing fine papers in Boussières, Doubs (Burgundy-Franche Comté region).
Proud of its values and origins, Papeterie Zuber Rieder has successfully adapted to a constantly changing industry by drawing strength from its roots to overcome challenges and plan for the future.
Outstanding industrial facilities adapted to niche markets
Papeterie Zuber Rieder has a wide range of machinery used to manufacture, process and finish paper.
Our manufacturing site includes a papermaking machine and this gives us a flexible approach to production, allowing us to manufacture small quantities derived from our standard offer or fully customised papers.
We combine this with specific paper processing and finishing services.
These include :
- a rainbow palette of colors
- a wide choice of 1-sided or 2-sided structures (grain produced on the papermaking machine or off-line through mechanical embossing) or at the opposite end of the spectrum calendered, laid papers, etc.
- grammages from 72 g/m² to 450 g/m² (which can be laminated on request)
- a range of fibre compositions from broad-leaved, coniferous, annual plant or recycled paper sources, etc.
- a vast range of finished products on reels, unreamed or reamed sheets, guillotine cut on request.
- multiple options for coating paper to give it, for example, a gloss appearance
- pH values ranging from acid to neutral
- numerous special treatments : moisture-proofing, fungicide and food-grade treatment, for digital printing on HP Indigo presses, etc.
- surface marking produced on papermaking machines using toothed wheels.
